Birthstones have been traditionally associated with the different months of the year, throughout much of man’s history. The origins include biblical passages, folklore and myth. Birthstone jewelry and gemstones have long been thought to bring its wearer good luck and fortune. In more modern times, birthstone jewelry has been expanded from precious to semi-precious stones to make them more affordable.
Listed on the chart below are stones currently associated with the months of the year. Some are recent additions, including synthetic/lab created gemstones, to make expensive birthstones more affordable. The mystical stones arise from Tibetan traditions, and offer yet another alternative for choosing a birthstone to wear.

All our Gemstones are 100% natural unless otherwise noted. Since our mission is to make our jewelry affordable, and certain precious gemstones like diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds, in large sizes, are not always affordable for everyone. We will carry both natural and lab created or simulated gemstone jewerly, giving you the choice. Lab created, will always be marked as such. The vast majority of our gemstones are natural.

 
For your information, the meaning of Lab created or simulated gemstones is as follows.......

Lab Created is used to describe "synthetic" materials that duplicate the properties of the natural gemstone it imitates. They have the exact same optical, physical and chemical properties as a natural stone so it is almost impossible to tell the difference. Even by a gemologist, it is very difficult to identify by the naked eye or even by 10x loupe. With the lab created, you get the best of both worlds, a perfect stone and a great price.

Real gems are gorgeous but incredibly expensive, especially when it comes to big, bright and top quality ones that are extra rare to find. Your only alternative is lab gems!!!  These lovely substitutes are flawless in appearance and they cost only a fraction of the price! Their chemical make-up is the same as the real ones, the only difference is, they are grown in the lab. 

The table below, is a compilation of multiple sources, including information from the American National Association of jewelers, so it may vary from other individual tables that you may find, as different tables sometimes list different “official” birthstones. This seems to fit most of the tables that I have seen. Given here are all the various stones ascribed to the birthstone signs in the sources consulted. Every person has many different birthstones to choose from, so go ahead and pick your favorite.
